Diabetes Type 2 Remedies

There are two types of diabetes: Type I and Type II. In this post, we will cover the more common one—Type II Diabetes. Of those who have diabetes, 90% have the Type II variety. Type I Diabetes will be covered in a separate post.

Diabetes is a disease which causes hyperglycemia (high blood glucose levels), and the elevated blood sugar produces symptoms of excessive urination, increased thirst and hunger, fatigue, blurred vision, sores that don’t heal, tingling in the hands and feet.

Diabetes Type 2 is often linked to a poor diet and inactivity. It’s been shown to be hereditary, too. Other potential causes of diabetes include infection, vaccines, and nutritional shortages.

But don’t worry too much. Type II Diabetes can be reversed. This post will show you how.

As always, we will look into what a doctor may recommend first before getting into the natural remedies.

Professional Treatments for Type II Diabetes

Insulin

The first thing a doctor may prescribe is insulin. A third of all Type II Diabetes patients are prescribed insulin. Whether this is prescribed depends on the individual. People with diabetes type 2 are often able to produce the hormone known as insulin, produced by the beta cells of the pancreas. However, there are cases where diabetes type 2 patients do not produce enough insulin or their body is unable to effectively use it. In these situations, diabetes can be managed through insulin injections.

As lifestyle changes occur, or trying other remedies, there may be less of a need for insulin therapy as time progresses.

Monitoring Blood Sugar Levels

Some may need to constantly monitor their blood sugar levels. This is an easy procedure that can be done at home. It will alert you whether you need to take insulin or not. Follow your doctor’s protocols on when to take them and what levels they should be at.

Healthy Food

Both professionals and alternative healers agree that a change in diet is necessary.

Natural Remedies for Type II Diabetes

Apple Cider Vinegar

People have reported that Apple Cider Vinegar had made the biggest impact in their fight with diabetes.

Each individual is unique, therefore you will have to experiment with your dose until you discover one that works best for you. Try a little less and increase as needed. Continue to check your blood sugar levels to see how this remedy affects you. A typical apple cider vinegar tonic includes 1-2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water once or twice a day. Some have reported that adding baking soda to the mixture increases the effectiveness and taste.

If you take the Apple Cider Vinegar before meals, it will help you lose weight, which is crucial in reversing Diabetes.

Dietary Changes

Follow the same diet as above in the Professional Treatments above. Stick to organic non-gmo foods and alkaline water. Another extremely effective remedy for Type II Diabetes is OMAD.

OMAD (One Meal A Day)

This is a tough one for most as we are all used to three meals a day. But understanding how effective this is for reversing diabetes should change people’s mind. To get the most benefit from this, it should be done every day for several weeks–ideally at least three months.

This requires willpower. If you’re having a difficult time with it, try intermittent fasting first. Intermittent fasting is when you only eat during a 6-hour window during the day. You could squeeze two meals into these six hours.

Milk Kefir

Milk kefir has good bacteria. This good bacteria fights the bad bacteria in your body. The bad bacteria could be responsible for your Type II Diabetes. When purchasing Kefir, make sure it contains L. Casei. It will take a couple of months to notice results but people have reported great results.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon has been shown to be very effective against diabetes.  Make sure it is Pure Ceylon Cinnamon, as the other ones could have harmful side effects. Take a few capsules a day for a few weeks and measure your results.

Supplements

In addition to a change in diet. The following supplements will also aid in reversing diabetes:

  • Chromium
  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin D
  • ALA (Alpha Lipoic Acid)
  • Zinc
  • Magnesium
  • Selenium
  • B Complex
